The Department of English, in collaboration with the 57th batch of students, hosted a heartwarming farewell program for the outgoing batch. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests: the Pro-Vice Chancellor of City University Bangladesh, the Exam Controller, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics, the Registrar, and the HR Director.

The program began with a formal segment where guests shared their inspiring speeches, offering words of wisdom and best wishes for the future graduates. The Head of the Department of English presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all for making the event a memorable occasion. Guests were warmly welcomed with floral bouquets as a token of appreciation.

Following the formalities, the event transitioned into a vibrant cultural segment where students showcased their talents through various performances, creating lasting memories. The program was a heartfelt celebration of the bond shared among the students, beautifully reflected in their tagline: “Batch 57 – Leaving the campus, but keeping the bond.”

The Department of English extends its best wishes to the graduates of the 57th batch as they step into new chapters of their lives. May they continue to shine and make meaningful contributions wherever they go.

অনুষ্ঠানের শুভ সূচনা করেন মাননীয় প্রো-ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর স্যার, রেজিস্ট্রার স্যার ও ডিন মহোদয়,ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন ও অর্থনীতি অনুষদ।

এই আয়োজন প্রমাণ করে, আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীরা শুধু ক্লাসরুমেই নয়—সৃজনশীলতা, নেতৃত্ব ও সংস্কৃতিতেও সমানভাবে সমৃদ্ধ।

পাঠচক্র সিটি ইউনিভার্সিটি এবং ইংলিশ ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ অ্যান্ড ডিবেটিং ক্লাবের যৌথ আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় প্রতিভা বিকাশমূলক অনুষ্ঠান “সৃজন-২০২৫: প্রতিভার বিকাশে হোক আলোড়ন। এই আয়োজনে ছিল ৭টি ভিন্নধর্মী প্রতিযোগিতা, যার মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য- রম্য বিতর্ক, স্পেলিং বি প্রতিযোগিতা,উপস্থিত বক্তৃতা, চিত্রাংকন প্রদর্শনী, স্থিরচিত্র প্রদর্শনী, ছোটগল্প প্রতিযোগিতা ইত্যাদি।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সিটি ইউনিভার্সিটির মাননীয় উপাচার্য মহোদয় এবং প্রো-ভিসি মহোদয়। তারা প্রতিযোগীদের শিল্পকর্ম ঘুরে দেখেন এবং সৃজনশীলতাকে উৎসাহ দেন। এ সময় মাননীয় উপাচার্য ইংরেজি বিভাগে বুক এক্সচেঞ্জ কর্নার–এর উদ্বোধন করেন, যা পাঠ্যভ্যাস বিকাশে একটি অনন্য উদ্যোগ।

বিজয়ীদের হাতে পুরস্কার তুলে দেন ইংরেজি বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান রহমান এম মাহবুব। সমাপনী পর্বে তিনি তার মূল্যবান বক্তব্যের মাধ্যমে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের উৎসাহিত করেন।

The Department of Business Administration, in collaboration with the IQAC of City University, proudly organized the seminar titled “The State of Banking in Bangladesh: Present Challenges and Future Directions” on 18 May 2025 at the Central Auditorium.

The event was graced by a distinguished keynote address from Md Nafeez Al Tarik, CFA, FRM, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank Securities Ltd., and featured insightful remarks from the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, and Director of HR, City University.

With dynamic discussions and enthusiastic participation during the Q&A session, the seminar served as an enlightening platform for academic and industry exchange.

Heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Murshedul Arafin, Program Convener and sincere thanks to all respected guests, faculty, and students for contributing to the seminar’s grand success.

We had a wonderful seminar titled "Path to Higher Studies," which proved to be an engaging and highly interactive session. The speakers delivered excellent presentations on preparing for IELTS and GRE, and also provided valuable insights into writing an effective academic CV and Statement of Purpose (SoP). They demonstrated strategies for researching universities and finding suitable supervisors for pursuing higher studies abroad.

The students actively participated by asking numerous questions, all of which were answered thoroughly and thoughtfully by the speakers.

A heartfelt thanks to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and IQAC of City University for organizing such a timely and informative seminar.
