About Program

Master of Arts (MA) in English Program is of one year duration. It is composed of 42 credit hours covered by 12 courses carrying 1300 marks in total. The students shall take 11 compulsory courses and 2 open courses.

Degree Requirements

Requirements for degree awarding: A student has to complete thirteen courses (39 Credit hours) to complete MA in English. He/she has to earn a minimum CGPA of 2.25.

Evaluation of students’ performance will be based on final examination, terminal examinations, assignments/term paper, and class-test/in course. The distribution of marks is as follows.

Entry Requirements for new applicants

Students passing BA (Hons.) in English from a recognized university may be admitted to the MA in English in this University on such terms and conditions as may be determined by the University Admission Committee constituted by the competent authority and approved by the Academic Council of City University.
