Khandaker Nafiz Bayazid, an experienced Plant Breeder in Agricultural Research Industries of Bangladesh, is currently a faculty member and coordinator of City University. Having more than seven (7) years of research knowledge, he has demonstrated a history of succeeding as a Breeder in the agricultural sector. Conducting more than 300 experimental trials, collaborating with New Mexico State University (NMSU), US and Soybean Innovation Lab (SIL), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, US, he has contributed to releasing five (5) high yielding varieties in various vegetables. Besides that, he has also supported in obtaining seventeen (17) parental line advancement in Capsicum and two (2) potential peanut variety development in Bangladesh. Additionally, he has firm knowledge on Molecular Breeding, and Genetic Engineering which comprised of DNA extraction from both leaves and seeds, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) run, Gel Documentation and up to DNA band analysis along with EMS (Ethyl Methane Sulfonate) treatment as Mutation Breeding along with Minitab® and R Statistical analyses. Finally, he had infused his breeding skillsets with one of the largest corporate industries in Bangladesh, British American Tobacco (BAT) where he had a strong cooperation with Global Leaf Agronomy Development, Centre of Excellence (GLAD, CoE), Brazil, developing commercial varieties in Bangladesh as Asian perspective. Now, inheriting all the skillsets as Researcher and Business operative, he has a quest to exploit them in academia, making resourceful SMART Agriculture graduates that contribute to world food security with sustainability for a better future.
