Dr. Biswas is a maize scientist and had a great contribution to the nation. He involved white maize variety (SAU white maize 1 and SAU white maize 2) development programme under the project of “Collection, Evaluation and Introduction of White Maize for Human Consumption in Bangladesh”, Department of Agronomy, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU). He published twelve scientific papers in the National and International journals. He also engaged one white maize book(Prospects and Cultivation Practices of White Maize-A Secondary Staple Crop for Bangladesh)and one white maize food preparation manual. He has about 20 years’ experience in teaching and research. He participated in a numbers of training, seminars, workshops and conferences. Before joining here, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agriculture, College of Development Alternative, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. He also served as a Research Fellow (Department of Agronomy, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University), Research Associate (Agrarian Research Foundation), Agronomist (Supreme Seed Company Limited) and Crop Production Specialist (Globepac Foods and Beverage Company Limited). Mr. Biswas is also a member of Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh (KIB) & Agronomy Society of Bangladesh (BAS).
Teaching and Research experiences is 20 years
His research priorities areas on Planting Geometry, Time of Sowing, Fertilizer Management and Water Management of field crops specially in maize.
