Welcome to Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Electrical and electronic engineering encompasses all areas of research, development, design, and operation of electrical and electronic systems and their components, including software. Emphasis in such varied areas as circuit theory, communication sciences, computers and automata, control systems, electromagnetic fields, energy sources and systems, and materials and electronic devices is available. Bachelor of Science in EEE degree program is offered by the department in two criteria, regular and evening program.

Our program is laboratory and research-intensive. Hands-on laboratory experiences start in the freshman year and are integral to the program, as are out-of-the-classroom research experiences. Engineers in both fields must have a strong background in mathematics and physics, a broad base in the humanities, and a command of the English language in order to provide the scope of knowledge essential for optimum professional growth. The curriculum offered by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering meets these objectives.

Graduates from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering are sought after by all major industries. Electrical engineers hold many unusual and challenging positions in the IT, cellular communication, computers, electronics, communications, power, and other electrical industries    as well as chemical, nuclear, automotive, medical, metallurgical, textile, railway, petroleum, and other basically non-electrical industries. Their professional roles span industrial activity, research, development, design, production, marketing, operation, field testing, and maintenance of many types of equipment for government, industry, farm, and home.

Program Offered in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

Day Program is run from Saturday to Thursday. Generally, students are to come four days in a week in the classes. Students who have completed HSC from Science group, `A’ Level from science background & Diploma in science related programs are eligible to study in this program.

The Evening Program is only for diploma background student and anyone who cannot participate in the Regular Program due to their daytime work. The program focuses on enhancing communication proficiency, which is essential for business people living in Bangladesh.

Classes are offered 3 days a week (Thursday/Friday/Saturday) .

1.Individuals who are not citizens or permanent residents of Bangladesh are defined as international applicants. International applicants seeking admission into City University must meet the same academic standards as those required for Bangladeshi students. There are wide variations, however, among educational systems throughout the world that make an exact comparison of educational standards difficult. International applicants  are selected on the basis of their prior academic results, English proficiency, probability of success in the chosen curriculum as evidenced by prior work in the academic area involved, and certification of adequate financial resources.

2. Students must have good command in English.
